What is the MyCAA Scholarship?
The My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) Scholarship is a Department of Defense program that provides up to $4,000 in financial assistance to eligible military spouses. The funds can be used toward tuition for licenses, certifications, or associate degrees that prepare you for careers that are portable and in high demand.

Expenses MyCAA Covers
Covered
- Tuition for approved programs(certificates, certifications, or associate degrees)
- Costs for required exams(such as certification tests)
- Academic programs that lead directly to employment
Not Covered
- Bachelor’s or graduate degrees
- Computers, books, or supplies
- Continuing education classes not tied to a specific career path.

Like most government programs, MyCAA serves a very specific purpose for certain military spouses. This benefit works well for spouses who need to get professional credentials to sustain a portable career. Eligible individuals include:
- Spouses of service members on active duty
- Spouse can complete coursework while sponsor is on Title 10 military orders
- Service member is in pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2 and O-1 to O-2
- Spouses whose sponsor is in the National Guard and reserve component in these same pay grades also qualify for MyCAA

MyCAA funding can be used with other financial aid
